The journey to university is exhilarating! Imagining what you want for yourself and who you want to become is filled with adventure and potential.

But it’s not always easy.

Reviewing hundreds of universities; deciding which universities best match your needs, goals, and background; and successfully applying to them, however, can be extremely overwhelming and stressful.

University Admission in Trinidad and Tobago

Sandra Salloum.

For sixteen years, Sandra has been helping students from her home country, Trinidad and Tobago, achieve their goals of going to university in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. She works with students in the process of self-discovery to help them build a customized list of universities from the thousands of options available, and coaches them through all the moving parts of their applications. She brings her excitement for helping young people thrive, along with her goal-oriented nature, into her every interaction with students and parents.

Sandra is a learning enthusiast and invests a great deal of time researching and visiting universities, talking to admissions counselors, and taking courses to continuously renew her knowledge. She is a professional member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA) and the International Association for College Admissions Counseling (IACAC). Her college counseling certificate with distinction from UCLA, certification in positive psychology at the University of Pennsylvania (in process), applied psychology and life and career coaching certificates, and bachelor’s degree in business all combine to provide her with the skills to help students believe in themselves, set challenging yet attainable goals, reach their potential, and ultimately find their way to their best-fit universities.

College Essay Counseling Psychology

Julia Byrd.

There’s a lot of pressure for students to spend their high school careers cultivating a résumé that generates attention-getting college applications. But one thing that doesn’t have to be stressful for students is writing their personal statements and supplemental essays. While Julia doesn't have a magic wand that makes essays write themselves, she does have the next best thing: smart, effective strategies that make the brainstorming and writing process simple — and even fun.

Julia has been a professional writer for more than 12 years, writing the corporate bios, website copy and blog posts that attract attention and generate business. In 2018, she combined this extensive writing and editing background with her master’s degree in counseling psychology to become a college essay coach. Her unique background and combination of skills let her help students find their deepest stories, develop their voices, and write the essays that stand out to admissions officers.
